Founded in 1896
Mammen & Drescher’s early business adventures
Mammen & Drescher was founded in 1896 by brothers-in-law A. Mammen and M.P. Drescher. Over the years, Mammen & Drescher has been involved in many different business areas.
Around 1914, the company became actively involved in an attempt to establish car production in Denmark. Together with Jan Hagemeister, Mammen & Drescher was responsible for the production of the “Jan” car in Jyderup. In addition, Mammen & Drescher was the general importer of several car brands and the tire brand “FISK AUTOGUMMI”.
The company has been established in Aarhus, Aalborg, Copenhagen, Nyborg, Esbjerg and New York.
The beginning of a freight forwarding business in Copenhagen Freeport
In 1961, Finn Drescher started a freight forwarding business in Copenhagen’s Freeport with the main activities focused on storing large volumes of goods (coffee, tea and cocoa) and truck transportation to the rest of Denmark and Scandinavia. Finn Drescher established warehouse facilities at Islands Brygge and Ottiliavej in Valby. In addition, he subsequently built his own terminal in Vestre Teglgade in Copenhagen’s South Harbor alongside the business in Pakhus 21 in Frihavnen.
Today, Mammen & Drescher is located near Kvistgård and consists of quality freight forwarders who arrange safe transportation of both private individuals and companies’ goods.
